In LE Marche DIALECT, anicò means “ALL THINGS,” OR OGNI COSE
Anicò provides travelers with extraordinary, intimate tours of Italy by opening doors to experiences that remain out of reach to everyday visitors.
Guests enjoy a deeper connection to Italian culture as they explore the country’s finest resources with Italy’s most celebrated artists, chefs, designers, and experts.
Each Anicò tour is planned and led by Kathy Abbott, an Italian-American dual citizen and guide. Whether pre-planned or bespoke, trips are custom-tailored to each group and can focus on food, wine, fashion, architecture, or history (or a bit of everything). Spaces are limited to 10-12 people to ensure each itinerary caters to individual interests.
Kathy Abbott
Born and raised in Sassoferrato, Italy to an Italian mother and an American father, Kathy holds a deep love for both sides of her heritage and has a lifetime of experience bridging her two cultures. Kathy is a native Italian speaker, and with English as her second language, is completely bilingual. She spent her formative years in Europe, where her secondary schooling took place in Germany, England, and boarding school in Switzerland, where she became fluent in French.
Upon moving stateside for high school, she would return to spend summers with her grandparents in the family home (a 17th-century palazzo), a tradition she continued with her own children for decades. Now that they are grown, it is her passion to introduce other travelers to the surprising, sophisticated wonders that unseen Italy has to offer.
A far cry from her early days as an Intelligence Analyst for the Department of Defense, Kathy is also a life-long student who has pursued her passions. She has continued her studies in art history, language, and design, resulting in an M.A. in Italian Language and Literature from Catholic University and, most recently, a B.S. in Theatre, with a concentration in Costume Design and History, from Towson University. She brings a unique depth of understanding of her interests to each trip she hosts.
When not on tour, Kathy is an active community advocate, volunteer, and leader in her adopted home of Baltimore, MD.
